bambu® becomes a B Corporation
Portland, Oregon, January 21st, 2018 – bambu® is proud to be a Certified B Corporation®
an acknowledgment of the company’s commitment to social and environmental ethics, transparency, and accountability.
bambu joins more than 2400 Certified B Corporations globally – including more than 50 businesses in Oregon – that have met the rigorous standards that measure a company’s impact on its employees, suppliers, community and the environment.
"B Corporation's values are aligned with everything we believe in and the core to why we started bambu. We believe it is important to demonstrate our committment beyond words. From the beginning, we've always stated that it's more than a product," remarks Jeff Delkin, owner and co-founder of bambu.
B Corps are important because they inspire all businesses to compete not only to be the best in the world, but to be best for the world.
Certified B Corporations meet higher standards of social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability.
It's like Fair Trade certification but for the whole business, not just a bag of coffee (or USDA Organic certification, but not just for a carton of milk; or LEED certification, but not just for a building).
The performance standards B Corps meet are comprehensive, transparent and verified. They measure a company's impact on all its stakeholders (e.g. workers, suppliers, community, customers and the environment.).
