This last week, as a part of Shanghai International Creative Industry Week, the Royal Danish Consulate General hosted RESPONSIBLE FASHION AND DESIGN 2008 in collaboration with the Danish Fashion Institute.
It was an honor to be recognized as pioneers in China who are creating companies built on responsible business practices, we were asked to be the keynote speakers on the topic of Responsible Design in China. Danish design is well known for its beautiful design aesthetic and use of natural materials, and in many ways, an inspiration to our own design thinking.
We spoke about how to communicate 'responsibility' to consumers, and how to position a responsible company in the market place. We shared our stories about creating bambu, Trine introduced Jooi and together we shared our experience in creating NEST, an entirely new retail concept in China.
The event was sponsored by Kompan and it attracted an impressive range of Danish brands including Bang & Olfsen, Ecco, Spooon and others.
