'Give It a Rest' Bamboo Spatula

I purchased a variety of the Bambu cooking utensils after learning of the toxins that came back on my labs Fall 2023. I tossed out all my silicone utensils after realizing they could be leaching chemicals into my food. Searched high and low for best option of clean utensils and found Bambu. Very happy with them!

Love the "give it a rest" spatulas---their shape, their nice thin beveled tips and, of course, the resting edge.

A great spatula, light weight, sturdy, the built in rest on the back is useful, the handle is comfortable. Only problem is if you’re left handed, it’s totally useless. So 5 stars for construction, 1 star for inclusivity.

Every product I purchased is incredibly smooth, lightweight, dries quickly, and does the task it is made for! This was a major upgrade from the wooden utensils I was using! So happy with them!

As a follow-up to the reply in my first review, this spatula has never been in the dishwasher, only hand washed. I’ve been careful to hand wash it promptly after use and have never left it sitting in liquids of any kind.

Unfortunately, this spatula is not durable. After just 6 months of use, the edge is rough and chipping/flaking. While a little bamboo in my food is preferred to plastics, it’s not at all what I had in mind. I bought 3 pieces in this line and use the spatula the most (3-4x/week). While the spatula is the roughest and chipping the most, all 3 pieces have the same issue.

All 3 pieces have been well cared for…they have been immediately washed, never left sitting in the pan, the sink or in water. They’ve bern properly oiled too.

I am very disappointed.

Good for the properties I wanted in a spatula, just wish it was a bit wider with maybe a little more heft. Some things are a lot harder to pick up or move because of its size.

A lovely spatula! I'm really pleased with the beautiful natural wood and smooth finish. So elegant and healthy in my kitchen. It's labeled organic as well. The spoon rest is a great feature to keep the spatula clean on my countertop while I cook. I wish the spatula was a little larger and ideally shaped more like a pancake turner, but overall I'm very happy to use it as a nontoxic utensil for my ceramic griddle. The shipping was also very prompt and nicely packaged. I'll be ordering a cutting board from Bambu soon! I love this company!

Threw away all of my rubber spatulas and use these now. The rubber would always become compromised and little pieces would break off.

LOVELY piece. So nicely made. These are helping me recover from having to chuck out so many plastic pieces I learned were toxic. The quality of every bambu item I ordered was so good. I know these will last for years.

The bamboo is smooth and the weight is what I expected. I like how this gets into the corners of my baking dish.

My favorite! Just purchased 3 for my adult children. No mold where the scraper attaches, no missing chunk of rubber to worry about & it works sooo well!

Wanting to go plastic free to the extent possible, I tried your "Give it a Rest" spatula and I simply love it. what an ingenious design.

But, since it is made of wood, I'll want to order 2 more of them, so that I have a special spatula for neutral, meet and fish dishes.

Really like this spatula. It’s lightweight and easy to hold with a flat edge. I also LIKE the feature of a “built-in” spoon rest: so you can put the spatula down without getting food residue on the counter. And lastly, the shape is perfect for getting around the curved edge of a pan. All in all, so glad I purchased it and would recommend!

I had a very hard time locating a quality bamboo spatula like this one. My old Joyce Chen's finally cooked their last meal and I didn't want a wood replacement. So I found the Bambu store and love their spatulas. They are the correct length, have a nice sharpened edge for scraping and a built-in spoon rest. Sounds perfect to me!
