Erin D. These are exactly what I wanted! It was really difficult to find wooden baby spoons that were not sealed with mineral oil. Mineral oil is a by-product of refining crude oil to make gasoline and other petroleum products. Nasty stuff and I'm so grateful to find a company that doesn't use it!

We strive to make natural and safe feeding products for babies and children.
All of our bambu KIDS products are made from certified organic bamboo. That means no chemicals or pesticides are used in growing or harvesting the bamboo.
Regarding our product finishes, we do not use any lacquer or lead finishes on any of our natural utensil products. We instead hand finish with a food grade certified organic oil derived from the flax seed. No animal products are used.

We are not at all bashful in informing you that our feeding spoons are made from bamboo sourced in China and made here locally in our workshop (we're writing you from our small office here). The word 'China' can make some people recoil, as if everything coming from China is bad. We've been pleased to promote #proudlymade in China since our inception more than 12 years ago. We work with small scale woodworkers who are experienced with bamboo, and source bamboo that is audited and certified. We have earned Organic certification for 7 years, the only company to go this extra step. Our Kids feeding spoons are made from single pieces of bamboo. That means, no adhesives are used. No lacquers or finishes either. We use an organic linseed oil as a final thin coat on our kids eating utensils.
As I write this reply, we are in route to our workshop in Fujian, China where are kids utensils are hand produced. It is a rural place of fine craftsmanship and extraordinary tea growing. The land is lush and beautiful, and the people are exceptional with their hands. Hope that gives you a glimpse of our source and production.
