Bambu introduces ultra-premium, pure bamboo single use napkins

Portland, Oregon – July 15th, 2016

Bambu®, the leading green brand in the hospitality industry, has announced the introduction of the first bamboo single use napkin to the market.

The company introduces pure bamboo single use napkins to its growing clientele of catering, hospitality and restaurant customers looking for eco friendly products. The bamboo napkins are available in two sizes, deluxe dinner and premium cocktail size napkins.

These eco friendly and luxurious napkins offer the look, feel, and absorbent qualities of fine cloth napkins, but are far more convenient and a less costly option than fabric.

These fine napkins are made from 100% renewable eco friendly bamboo, and made without dyes or bleach. The bambu brand napkin also carries the recognized USDA biobased certification label recognizing it as completely biodegradable and expands the company’s range of environmentally friendly products.

The company altered the industry by creating a new ‘natural disposable’ segment with the introduction of its well-known, premium quality Veneerware® single use dinnerware in 2003. Veneerware® is the leading brand of natural disposable dinnerware. And Veneerware® is the only disposable dinnerware made from certified organic bamboo. Plus, Veneerware® is also compost approved. Like the new the bambu brand napkins, Veneerware® has also achieved 100% USDA biobased certification.

Bambu is a company known for ‘firsts’ in the industry. Bambu was the first company to introduce bamboo dinnerware to the catering industry. Bambu is also the first and only company to certify its source of bamboo as organic. The company continues with creating innovative products for the hospitality and gourmet categories.

“We are excited to be on the forefront of the industry and continue to elevate disposable products by providing innovative and sustainable solutions to the hospitality industry. Our pure bamboo napkins are a perfect compliment to our elegant, natural dinnerware range,” commented Jeffrey Delkin, owner and co-founder of Bambu.

The premium bamboo napkins are available on the company’s website at http://www.bambuhome.com and from selected retailers beginning in July.

With roots in Portland, Oregon, since 2003 Bambu® has designed, developed and manufactured handcrafted, modern home eco products made from renewable materials such as bamboo, cork, coconut, hemp, organic cotton, and soy. The company is headquartered in Shanghai, China, where it produces more than 120 different products in its own production workshop and partnering facilities, all of which are located close to their raw-materials sources.

Bambu Launches New Products Made From Reclaimed Cedar

Bambu Launches New Products Made From Reclaimed Cedar

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Portland, Oregon – June 29, 2016

Bambu has introduced a first-of-its-kind collection of serving trays, serving boards and drinks coasters made from reclaimed cedar wood.

The cedar wood is reclaimed from 70-year homes in China. Before western building materials were introduced in China in the mid-century, people used the local wood, naturally. Chinese Cedar wood was a common material for the building of homes and other wooden structures. The wood is salvaged, and used most often by local people for small projects.

“We spotted this salvage yard near our two workshops south of Shanghai. It was filled with these beautiful cedar planks. We later tested the wood to make sure it was free of chemicals. Not only that, cedar is naturally resistant to staining, bugs and mold. It was our ‘ah ha’ moment,” remarked Rachel Speth, designer and owner of bambu.

The collection consists of eight (8) serving trays and boards handmade from selected wood. The unique grain of the wooden trays makes each product a one-of-a-kind. The design is inspired by the hexagon, a design reference to the company’s on-going support of honeybees and healthy eco-systems.

The cedar wood trays have been selected and will be showcased in the SustainAbility: Design for a Modern World a curated exhibition in New York in August 2016. Also selected are cedar coasters with two new motifs - a modern, seasonal riff on the peace sign, and a turn-of-the-century bridge. The entire collection of the new cedar wooden trays is available on the bambu website here.
